Salary:  £40,247 to £47,874 per annum

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Business Systems team for a key role in the support, development and implementation of our administrative IT systems.  

You will be part of a small team supporting a number of central administrative third-party applications and providing database administration services in a mixed Oracle and Microsoft SQLServer environment at the University. 

This role will require you to:

  • Create and maintain databases, write interfaces between them and other applications and provide support to users with technical issues. 
  • Lead on projects implementing new services and larger upgrades as well as upgrading some applications yourself. 

To be effective in this role, you will need:

  • A good grasp of SQL and scripting in both windows and Linux environments, 
  • Experience of performing database backup and recovery using third party tools or the command line. 
  • The ability to communicate effectively with technical users and key contacts throughout the University.
