We&rsquo;re currently inviting applications for a Lecturer position within our vibrant Computing department&mdash;a place where creativity, collaboration, and cutting-edge research come together to make a real impact. We take pride in fostering a welcoming, supportive, and collaborative environment where innovation and excellence thrive.</p><p>In this role, you&rsquo;ll play a key part in delivering engaging material / modules on Game Development. You&rsquo;ll also could supervise final year projects, guiding students through real-world challenges and cutting-edge research. &nbsp;You should be able to demonstrate a commitment to high quality learning and teaching across all levels of Higher Education within the UK and internationally. &nbsp;Whether you&#39;re an experienced academic or just beginning your journey in higher education, we&rsquo;re here to support you. We offer pathways to gain an accredited UK teaching qualification and provide access to world-class research groups, facilities, and equipment within our School and University.</p><p>Our Lecturers also offer pastoral support and guidance. This includes listening with empathy, understanding individual student needs, and referring them to specialist services when appropriate. To be successful in this role, you should have:</p><ul type="disc"><li>A good degree, in game development (or a closely related discipline).&nbsp;</li><li>Up-to-date, sound knowledge of the subject including current professional/ vocational developments and the range of generic skills. Specifically, broad knowledge and understanding of general-purpose game development with in-depth experience of: &nbsp;<ul type="disc"><li>C++ game development&nbsp;</li><li>Multiplayer game development&nbsp;</li><li>Unity 6 and/or Unreal Engine 5&nbsp;</li></ul></li><li>The ability to contribute to the development and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in computer science and related areas.&nbsp;</li><li>Experience of, or potential to develop, quality research, consultancy or knowledge exchange activity relevant to the needs of the School. &nbsp;</li></ul><p>Ideally you will have relevant industrial / professional experience and a membership of, or working towards the membership of relevant professional bodies.&nbsp;</p><p>This is a full-time post, and fixed term for 2 years, &nbsp;however, we welcome applications from candidates seeking job share.</p><p>If you would like an informal discussion before applying, please contact Almas Baimagambetov <a href="mailto:A.Baimagambetov2@brighton.ac.uk">A.Baimagambetov2@brighton.ac.uk</a> or Karina Rodriguez Echavarria <a href="mailto:k.rodriguez@brighton.ac.uk">k.rodriguez@brighton.ac.uk</a></p><p>If we receive a high volume of applications we may close this advert early, giving 24 hours&rsquo; notice to pending applicants.</p>
