The University of Brighton is seeking a talented and experienced <strong>Student Communications &amp; Engagement Manager&nbsp;</strong>to lead our student communications and engagement team.</p><p>You will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive strategy to engage and inspire our students via a range of channels. You will work closely with colleagues across the university to ensure that our communications are relevant, engaging, and support our students&#39; success.</p><p>With exceptional communication skills, you will have a proven track record of developing and delivering successful communications and engagement strategies at complex and diverse organisations. You will have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to challenge and influence colleagues at all levels.             <p id="isPasted"><strong>Are you an experienced change communications professional who enjoys working at the heart of organisational transformation, helping shape understanding, trust and engagement?</strong></p><p>We are seeking a <strong>Change Communications &amp; Engagement Manager</strong> to lead the planning and delivery of clear, honest and engaging communications that support the successful implementation of our university-wide transformation programme and <a href="https://www.brighton.ac.uk/about-us/governance-and-structure/strategy/index.aspx">Distinctively Brighton 2035 strategy.</a></p><p>You will play a critical role in helping colleagues understand the <em>why</em>, <em>what</em> and <em>how</em> of change, working closely with senior leaders, programme and project managers, and colleagues across the university to support engagement, minimise uncertainty, and build trust during periods of transition.</p><p>With excellent communication and influencing skills, you will be confident translating complex and sensitive information into compelling, accessible communications for diverse audiences. You will be highly organised, comfortable working at pace in a complex environment, and experienced in using insight and analytics to continuously improve communications effectiveness.</p><p>This role is being offered as a two-year fixed-term contract.</p><p>Key responsibilities:</p><ul type="disc"><li>Plan, develop and deliver a coordinated programme of change communications and engagement activities supporting the university&rsquo;s transformation programme.</li><li>Translate complex programme information into clear, engaging communications for staff at all levels.</li><li>Design and support effective two‑way engagement mechanisms so colleagues feel informed, listened to and able to influence change.</li><li>Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, providing expert guidance on change communications and staff engagement.</li><li>Produce high‑quality content across a range of channels and formats, including leader briefings, intranet content, newsletters, FAQs, presentations and multimedia.</li><li>Use insight and analytics to evaluate and continually improve the impact of change communications.</li></ul><p>Qualifications and experience:</p><ul type="disc"><li>Proven experience developing and delivering change, internal or strategic communications in large, complex organisations.</li><li>Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with experience working closely with senior stakeholders.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion and empathy.</li><li>Educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience, with evidence of continuous professional development in communications and/or change.</li><li>Experience of producing high‑quality content across multiple channels and formats.</li></ul><p>This role is full-time (37.0 hours per week), however we do welcome applications from job sharers, and it is on a fixed term basis for 24 months.</p><p>Working with us you will enjoy a competitive salary, generous leave, and a good <a href="https://unibrightonac.sharepoint.com/:b:/s/public/ES0GSQLcq9BBldYeN_vL3VgB1vwIVwW5_IhL7GNlRTOocQ?e=darUBA">work-life balance</a>, all within a supportive, collaborative, and values-led university community.</p>
