            <p id="isPasted">We are seeking a proactive and capable Fire Safety Support Officer to join our Health and Safety team. This is a part-time role based on 390 annualised hours. The working pattern is flexible, with hours scheduled across the year to meet operational requirements, while considering the availability of the successful candidate (e.g. days, weeks, or defined project periods).</p><p>This is a key role supporting the delivery of operational fire safety across the University. Working closely with the Fire Safety Adviser, Estates and Facilities, and other stakeholders, you will help ensure compliance, support the implementation of fire safety policies and procedures, and promote a positive fire safety culture.</p><p><strong>About the role:</strong></p><ul><li>This role will coordinate fire drills and emergency evacuation procedures, deliver a range of fire safety training, support the development of Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPs).</li><li>This role will also assist with fire safety audits, inspections, and record management.</li><li>The role also includes maintaining fire safety equipment and providing advice and guidance to staff across the University.</li></ul><p><strong>About you:</strong></p><ul><li>You will be an effective communicator, able to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders, and work both independently and as part of a team.</li><li>You will have a good understanding of fire safety legislation and experience of supporting fire safety activities such as training, audits, or emergency planning within a complex organisation.</li><li>You will have evidence of significant qualifications or training in fire safety and emergency planning matters and membership of relevant professional body. Where candidates do not hold this qualification but can demonstrate supporting competencies relevant to this post, support will be given to attain the qualification as soon as possible.</li></ul><p>This is an excellent opportunity to develop your experience within a collaborative team and contribute to maintaining a safe environment for our staff, students, and visitors.</p>

            <p id="isPasted">We are seeking an experienced and proactive Fire Safety Adviser to join our Health and Safety team on a 12-month fixed-term contract to provide maternity cover.</p><p>This is a key role responsible for delivering operational fire safety advisory services across the University, supporting compliance with fire safety legislation and promoting a positive fire safety culture. Working closely with colleagues across Estates and Facilities Management, Student Operations and Support, and other departments, you will provide expert guidance on fire safety matters, support the development and implementation of policies and procedures, and promote best practice across the university community.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>In this role, you will:</strong></p><p>- Oversee a complex programme of fire risk assessments, inspections and audits, monitor compliance, investigate incidents, and ensure timely follow-up of actions.&nbsp;</p><p>- Manage and analyse fire safety data, prepare reports and present findings to senior managers and governance committees.&nbsp;</p><p>- Contribute to the delivery of fire safety training and support responses to changes in legislation and regulatory requirements.</p><p>- Provide leadership, guidance and support, helping to ensure the effective delivery of fire safety services across the University. You will also deputise for the Fire Safety Manager when required, acting as a key point of contact for fire safety matters.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>To be successful in this role, you will:</strong></p><p>- Have substantial experience of delivering fire safety and emergency planning activities within a complex organisation, together with a strong understanding of fire safety legislation and best practice.&nbsp;</p><p>- Be experienced in undertaking audits, inspections and fire risk assessments, developing and delivering training, analysing data, and communicating effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.&nbsp;</p><p>- Have excellent interpersonal skills, sound judgement, and the ability to influence positive behaviours are essential.&nbsp;</p><p>- Have a recognised fire safety qualification, such as the IFE Level 4 Certificate in Fire Science and Fire Safety, or equivalent relevant experience.&nbsp;</p><p>This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to a large and diverse university environment, helping to ensure the safety of our staff, students and visitors.             <p id="isPasted"><strong>This is an exciting opportunity to join the Vice-Chancellor&#39;s Office as an Executive Personal Assistant</strong>. Working as part of a team of Executive Personal Assistants, you will play a key role in delivering effective, efficient, and responsive support to members of the University Executive Board.&nbsp;</p><p>This role will provide proactive, high-level support to the members of University Executive Board (UEB) and other senior colleagues. Work will often be confidential and urgent, so the postholder will be expected to use initiative and sound judgement to maintain the work schedule of these senior staff. The post holder will be responsible for supporting high-level internal meetings, including groups within the University&rsquo;s governance structure.</p><p>Your duties will include:</p><ul type="disc"><li>managing complex diaries and email correspondence on behalf of Executive Board members</li><li>supporting committees and meetings by preparing agendas, taking minutes, and tracking actions</li><li>liaising with a wide range people, both internal and external stakeholders&nbsp;</li><li>undertaking projects and other activities to support Executive Board priorities and the Vice-Chancellor&#39;s Office</li></ul><p>You will have experience as an executive or personal assistant, or be an experienced university administrator who is looking to apply your skills in a fast-paced, dynamic environment supporting the University&#39;s most senior leaders.&nbsp;</p><p>To succeed in this role, you will have:</p><ul type="disc"><li>a proactive, can-do attitude, and an ability to work both independently and as part of a team</li><li>highly developed oral and written communication skills with strong attention to detail</li><li>excellent IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office&nbsp;</li><li>an ability to respond to changing priorities, often at short notice</li><li>exceptional interpersonal skills and confidence in engaging with a wide range of people</li><li>confidence in handling complex and confidential matters</li></ul><p>This role is being offered at 29.5 hours, although requests for hours below this will be considered, depending on business need.
