Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Pharmacology (0.5 full-time equivalent)

Working as part of our Community Health Programme you will contribute to providing a stimulating learning experience, motivating and inspiring students to become critical thinkers and high-quality professionals.

The role plays a key part in facilitating learning in Independent / Supplementary Prescribing for Nurses, Pharmacists and Allied Health Professionals at level 6 and 7, across programmes. We are committed to creating an interprofessional and multidisciplinary approach and have a philosophy of engaging in partnership across the health and social care sector.

In order to be successful in this role you will have:

  • A Masters in Prescribing/Pharmacy or related subject.
  • Ideally a PhD or be committed to studying at a higher level. 
  • Professional experience as a senior practitioner or at an advanced practice level.
  • Up to date knowledge of contemporary prescribing policy and practice. 
  • A Professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council or HCPC.
  • A Post-graduate certificate in education and/or HEA Fellowship is required or will need to be achieved within first 12 months.  

If you have a Postgraduate degree and can supervise at this level, you will have opportunities to develop, as the University has an active programme for supporting early career researchers. Travel to other university sites will also be required.
