Facility CMIS User Support Officer

Estate and Facilities Management: Accommodation, Development & Planning

Location:  Brighton - Hollingbury
Salary:  £26,243 to £29,515 per annum

This varied role supports the work of the Systems Team within Estate and Facilities Management where your excellent IT skills and aptitude to manipulate complex databases will be utilised in providing support for CMIS (timetabling system) and associated interfaces. 

In this role you will:

  • manage the help desk support in order to maintain a prompt and efficient service
  • play a lead role in system developments, testing functionality, recording testing procedures and processes and reporting/escalating issues to the relevant parties
  • be involved in the production of user documentation, training materials and deliver training to end users across the university.
  • work closely with the Timetabling team, other users and Information Services to ensure training requirements are met, system data is maintained and the CMIS dataset cycle is fully planned and implemented.

The ability to plan and organise workloads is essential to success in the role, as are analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to explain complex processes to a wide audience.  Experience of using CMIS is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.

Based at Hollingbury which is easily accessible by public transport, there will be opportunities to visit users on all university campuses.  The post is fixed term until August 2020 to cover the secondment of another member of staff.
