Active Student, the volunteering service at the University is recruiting a Volunteer Project Officer. 

This is a great opportunity for you to join a dynamic team which co-ordinates student volunteering and placement opportunities across the Eastbourne campus. The role is varied, full and includes creating and implementing effective recruitment campaigns, assisting in the development and production of training and materials for appropriate academic programmes and delivering informative and engaging lectures and workshops with a focus on enhancing employability. You will work with students on a one to one basis and you will lead and support students to deliver an established sport based after school activity for local primary school children.

As the successful candidate, you will have:

  • Knowledge of good practice in volunteering policies and procedures
  • Experience of leading volunteering projects and managing and supporting volunteers  
  • Experience of delivering lectures or training to small and large groups
  • A good understanding and appreciation of customer service principles and an ability to work within a busy environment

You will have experience of working in partnership with community and voluntary sector / public service, or not for profit organisations and can develop suitable and appropriate opportunities for students. 

This post is based at our Eastbourne campus, but will require occasional, travel to other university sites.

A DBS check will be required for this post.

This post is on a fixed-term contract for a period of 12 months. The post is part-time for 22.5 hours per week (to be arranged with the successful candidate).
