            <table border="0" cellspacing="3" cellpadding="0" width="100%" id="isPasted"><tbody><tr><td><p>Join our team of Specialist Mentors offering individual support for students to gain equal access to their studies&nbsp;by helping them to overcome academic and psychological barriers to learning&mdash;such as anxiety, time management, and workload prioritization&mdash;without acting as a counsellor or tutor</p><p>You will have proven and demonstrable experience of working individually with adults with mental health conditions and/or autistic students, as well as a high level of analytical and problem solving ability.</p><p>We require mentors across our Brighton sites (Falmer, Moulsecoomb and City Centre) and ideally you will be able to commit to a minimum of two days a week, providing regular and consistent support. Each mentoring session will consist of mentoring and preparation work.</p><p>Mentors can provide support in-person on campus and also remotely via video calls. Ideally we are seeking mentors who can do some in-person work as this is in high demand from students.</p><p><strong>*PLEASE NOTE due to government legislation all mentors must have membership of certain professional bodies and/or specific qualifications to work with <u>a) Students with Mental Health conditions and b) Autistic students,&nbsp;</u>so we cannot accept applications from those that do not meet this criteria. Please check&nbsp;</strong><strong>pages 9-12 of <a href="https://www.practitioners.slc.co.uk/media/2114/matrix-june-2025-latest.pdf">the DfE qualification and professional body membership requirements</a></strong></p><p>In addition, a DBS check will be required for this role. &nbsp;</p><p><strong>Interviews will be held on Thursday 27th August 2026.</strong></p><p>This role is paid at spinal point 47, equivalent to circa &pound;32.96 an hour, plus an additional 12.07% uplift for statutory annual leave. One session with a student, including writing up action-plans and arranging the next session should all be completed within one hour.</p></td></tr></tbody></table>

            <p id="isPasted"><strong>The University&rsquo;s Disability and Learning Support Team are recruiting Academic Support Workers to support and/or take notes for students in their lectures and seminars. &nbsp;This role also includes acting as a reader and/or scribe for students in exams.</strong>&nbsp;</p><p>We are currently seeking to recruit Academic Support Workers to support students across a wide range of courses and disciplines at each of our 3 Brighton campuses. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p>As a casual post, this role may suit those who are interested in taking on work around their studies and/or other commitments. The rate of pay is circa &pound;18.45 per teaching hour which is inclusive of any time that might be required to format/tidy notes. Monthly claims will also include a holiday hour increment of 12.07%. While there is often a high demand for the service, we cannot guarantee that sessions or exams needing support will always be available. &nbsp;</p><p>A full list of duties is listed in the attached job description.
