School Administration Manager

School of Media

Location:  Brighton - Grand Parade
Salary:  £35,211 to £42,036 per annum
Contract Length: 12 months

In this pivotal role you will oversee the administrative interface between the School of Media’s administrative and teaching staff, central departments and external bodies, ensuring the needs of the School, its students and the wider University are met.  In particular, you will play an active part in the academic administrative review process currently on-going within the University.

As a member of the School Leadership Team you will represent the School at appropriate meetings, both within the university and externally. Overseeing the financial and strategic resources in the School is an important aspect of this role as is ensuring the implementation of agreed quality assurance processes.

You will line manage administrative and placement team staff, ensuring high levels of commitment, performance and professionalism and be involved in a wide range of HR matters including recruitment, induction, staff development and performance issues.  

Experience of administrative management in a complex and large institution is essential, along with experience of financial / budget management and high levels of numeracy and literacy with the ability to communicate complex information in a clear, appropriate and understandable way to a variety of audiences.

This is a full-time, fixed term post for 1 year. Job sharers are welcome to apply.
