This is an exciting opportunity to provide specialist expertise and advice relating to the Human Tissue Act across two school in the University to ensure vital compliance.
You will advise on policy and ensure those policies are implemented in accordance with legal frameworks, regulatory body requirements and codes of practice.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Providing support to the HTA-licence Designated Individual ensuring compliance with the licence as well as our university Code of Practice relating to the use of human material for teaching, training, and research purposes
- Management of the HTA Research information services for the University
- General laboratory management
- Providing specialist advice and recommendations to support research and ensure regulatory compliance
- Management of the Blood Donor Register and Urine Donor Register
- Managing a team of phlebotomists
- Working with the wider technical team to support laboratory teaching, research and consultancy
As well as the specialist knowledge required you will have excellent communication skills, be able to work on your own initiative, as well as demonstrate that you can work well with others. In addition you should have experience of developing effective work systems and meeting priorities efficiently, as well as be able to evidence performing practical work in an industrial or educational laboratory.
This post is permanent and full-time. The post holder will be able to work from home for part of the week if preferred. We welcome applications from those wishing to job-share.
