An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the School of Applied Sciences as a Technical Instructor in Pharmaceutical Sciences to our Pharmacy department, with the successful candidate supporting research and teaching activities within the core subject areas of Pharmaceutical Science and Chemistry. In this varied role, you will use your subject knowledge to assist with the delivery of practical classes, instruct students in laboratory techniques for project work and assist with the daily running of the facilities.
In the labs, this role will support staff and students, providing induction and training to users, give guidance on appropriate sample preparation methods and operate a broad range of analytical instrumentation including HPLC, UV Spectroscopy, FTIR, Texture Analyser, Tabletting, Rheometer and Laser Particular Sizer.
The Technical Instructor role also plays a vital part in the delivery and monitoring of Health and Safety policy and procedures and the successful candidate will ensure that lab users are working within agreed local and Health and Safety protocols and that facilities and equipment are maintained to a high standard.
The School of Applied Sciences is based within our modern teaching facilities on the newly developed Moulsecoomb campus. The school specialises in research and education in the fields of Pharmacy, Biology, Biomedical Science, Ecology and Conservation, Geography, Earth and Environment.
