Technical Demonstrator - Fashion Design (30 hours a week)

Salary:  £26,715 to £30,046 pro rata
30 hours per week

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team providing technical resource and demonstration to support teaching activities for the Fashion program. You will organise, prepare and deliver technical inductions and demonstration and provide technical resource support for the academic needs of students and staff.

You will have: 

  • In depth knowledge and the ability to demonstrate a wide range of fashion techniques
  • Be confident with both 3D/on the stand and 2D/flat pattern cutting, for womenswear and menswear, whilst being able to demonstrate and explain this to students. 
  • Highly skilled in the use of specialist industrial equipment and confident to demonstrate these skills to students. 
  • The ability to problem solve pattern cutting and manufacturing problems relevant to the fashion specialism. 
  • Previous experience of using relevant design software

It is essential that you have the ability to contribute to the decision making of others by providing relevant information and opinions in the specialist area. You must also be able to work within a team, be organised and flexible, and able to support the student learning experience across all areas of the department.
