Workshop Manager Technical Hub - Internal only

School of Art

Location:  Brighton - Grand Parade
Salary:  £30,395 to £34,189 per annum
Contract Length: 12 months

An exciting opportunity has arisen, working across the three art based schools you will manage the technical facilities, of the cross school provision including the University of Brighton International College (UBIC) Art and Design Course. 

In this role you will manage, organise technical demonstrations, inductions and instructions for students in order to support their engagement with the creative potentials of contemporary art and media, You will also be responsible for managing, inducting and developing a team of technical demonstrators across the multiple locations of the schools. 

Alongside this you will manage the technical facilities, studio/workshop, and equipment to meets the needs of the academic curriculum, taking responsibility for timetabling and operational delivery of workshops and studio provision ensuring safety standards are maintained. 

To be successful you should have a recognised, relevant art/media based qualification at degree level or appropriate experience in a similar role, together with substantial knowledge and experience of specific techniques, skills and media to deliver inductions in general workshop skills, printing, photography, fashion and digital marketing.

You should also have proven experience in managing and developing a team and strong planning and organisational skills.

This is a full-time, fixed term role for 12 months.
