Technical Demonstrator Technical Hub (15 hours per week) - Internal only

School of Art

Location:  Brighton - Grand Parade
Salary:  £26,715 to £30,046 pro rata
Contract Length: 12 months

Working across the three art-based schools you will work in the cross school technical facilities including the University of Brighton International College (UBIC) Art and Design Courses. As a member of the technical hub you will predominately be working in craft based workshops inducting student into the use of workshop tools and processes including digital manufacturing. Alongside your Workshop Manager, you will organise technical demonstration, inductions and instruction for students.  

You will provide specialist professional advice to all students, ensuring their understanding of skills and applications are met. You will organise and administer in consultation with the Workshop Manager, technical services in the workshops and to provide technical support for the academic needs of students and staff using these workshops. You will ensure that safe codes of practice are maintained, and current Health and Safety guidelines are adhered to in order to make your work area a safe place for staff, students and visitors. 

This role may be suitable for an internal secondment opportunity subject to agreement by your line manager.

This is a 12 month fixed term part time contract of 15 hours a week.
