This is an exciting opportunity to join the busy Academic Services team as an Academic Regulations Advisor, where you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality professional services in the Academic Quality and Standards team.

You will work in the central team supporting quality and standards in the area of academic standards and assessment to implement the appeals and mitigating circumstances service for the University. Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • ensuring all appeals and mitigating circumstances cases are handled according to relevant regulations:
  • undertaking the initial review of cases and determining outcomes in accordance with the relevant procedures;
  • managing the processes for convening panels and providing advice and recommendations
  • establishing and maintaining robust records and systems;
  • monitoring and reporting progress of appeals investigations and mitigating circumstances processes to senior staff;
  • provide advice, guidance and support to students, administrative and academic colleagues;
  • Contribute to the development and review of policies and regulation.

Educated to degree level or equivalent practical application of theoretical knowledge, you will be able to plan and prioritise a range of work activities, have a practical approach to problem-solving, and the ability to interpret, apply and communicate complex regulations and procedures.

This post is full time and fixed term for one year.
