Casual Recreation Assistant

Location:  Brighton - Falmer
Salary:  £17,361 to £18,009 pro rata
approximately £9.00 per hour

Sport Brighton is the collaboration of Sport and Recreation at the University of Brighton and plays a vital part in enhancing our students' experience and the health and wellbeing of staff and students.  We also lead on the development of the University of Brighton participation programmes which includes the Sports Federation (student-led clubs), Parklife (social sport & physical activity programme) and performance scholarship athletes.  More information can  be found here

Our casual Recreation Assistants play a key role in assisting the Sport Brighton team by providing an efficient and customer focussed reception service, booking facilities or courses via a computerised system and undertaking cashiering duties.  Duties also include setting up and taking down equipment, basic cleaning duties to ensure a safe and pleasant environment and routine maintenance.

The succeed in this role, based at our Falmer site, you will need

  • the ability to work co-operatively in partnership with others, meeting agreed objectives 
  • knowledge of customer service standards and ability to provide a high level service
  • ability to deal with enquiries in a professional manner
  • ability to hand casual accurate and securely
