Research Development Officer

Research, Enterprise & Social Partnerships

Location:  Brighton - Moulsecoomb
Salary:  £30,395 to £34,189 per annum
Contract Length: 12 months

We are seeking a proactive individual to work in the busy pre-award team in Research Services for a period of one year.  As the successful post holder, you will work as part of a specialist team who support research bid development.  With responsibility for a portfolio of academic Schools, the Research Development Officer will horizon-scan for funding opportunities, matching them to academic expertise, assist with all aspects of bid development including budgeting and drafting sections of approval and contribute to the Research Development training programme.

As the successful applicant, you will have excellent written and oral communication skills and a good understanding of the research environment. Additionally you will have:

  • Experience of academic writing
  • Experience of developing or working with budgets 
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Experience of designing and delivering training

This role is eligible for applications from job sharers.

This role is full-time (37 hours per week), on a fixed-term contract for 1 year.
