Procurement Officer

Finance Department

Location:  Brighton - Moulsecoomb
Salary:  £30,395 to £34,189

Your experience of procurement practice, including tendering and negotiation, will be welcome this integral role which will ensure the University maximises value for money and deliver positive and effective outcomes. 

In this role, you will: 

  • Ensure procurement practice reflects best sector practice and the University’s sustainable procurement policies and procedures. 
  • Work with the university’s supply chain to ensure our objectives are realised. 
  • Assist and advise staff in all aspects of the tender processes. 
  • Manage the implementation of the university’s e-procurement systems including e-tendering and procurement cards. 
  • Represent he university on sector working groups. 
  • Ensure the efficient processing of administrative tasks related to university procurement activities.

To succeed in the role, you will have knowledge of purchasing and procurement best practice and the ability to effectively contribute to teamwork and work actively with others to achieve organisational objectives.  The ability to explain complex processes and procedures is also essential, as is the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues based on openness and respect.
