Senior Lecturer in Advanced Clinical Practice

Can you provide a stimulating learning experience, motivating and inspiring students to become critical thinkers and high-quality professionals? This is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant team of academics dedicated to the learning and teaching of advanced practitioners. You will join our recently revalidated clinical practice programmes (Graduate Certificate/Postgraduate Certificate Clinical Practice and MSc Advanced Clinical Practice). 

Our courses are focused on preparing students with knowledge, skills, innovation and vision for advanced careers in contemporary health care services. We are looking to recruit a senior lecturer with up-to-date, sound knowledge of current developments in advanced clinical practice including current clinical, professional and policy developments. You will take an active part in supporting students in both theory and practice. A fundamental part of the role is collaborating with colleagues across the School with interests in advanced practice to develop research opportunities. In order to be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A good (1st or 2:1) degree in nursing, midwifery or allied health plus a postgraduate MSc
  • Registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council or the Health and Care Professions Council
  • A Higher Education teaching qualification and/or an HEA Fellowship, or willingness to undertake this within the first 12 months 

If you have a Doctorate and can supervise at this level, you will have opportunities to develop as the university has an active programme for supporting early career researchers. Travel to other university sites will also be required.
