Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Non-Medical Prescribing (0.5 full-time equivalent)

This is an exciting opportunity to take up a newly created post teaching across our non-medical prescribing programmes. Do you have contemporary knowledge of prescribing practice and professional experience as a senior practitioner or at an advanced practice level? Then we would love to hear from you.

Our programmes’ curriculum is focused on preparing practitioners to develop their role or innovate their practice, and our philosophy is to work in partnership with students, academics, researchers, service users and service colleagues to deliver high quality learning and teaching based on contemporary research findings and prescribing practice. You will provide specialist and advanced knowledge to prepare nurses, midwives and allied health professionals to prescribe safely, appropriately and cost effectively as an independent prescriber utilising a patient centred approach. 

In order to be successful in this role you must have:

  • Registration with the NMC or HCPC and hold a non-medical prescribing qualification
  • A good first degree in a nursing, midwifery or allied health profession and working towards or have a postgraduate MSc 
  • A Higher Education teaching qualification and/or an HEA Fellowship, or willingness to undertake this within the first 12 months 
  • Up-to-date, sound knowledge of current developments in health including current clinical, professional and policy developments and the range of generic skills required to teach the subject

If you have a PhD or Doctorate and can supervise at this level, you will have opportunities to develop as the university has an active programme for supporting early career researchers.
