Can you provide a stimulating learning experience, motivating and inspiring students to become critical thinkers and high-quality professionals?

We are recruiting for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer (grade dependent on experience) with excellent clinical skills to teach on our range of Physiotherapy programmes (BSc and MSc). The programmes have HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) registration status and we work in conjunction with our clinical partners to support placement experiences.  You should be able to contribute to core areas of the Physiotherapy curriculum in an evidence based manner.

Joining the Physiotherapy team in the School of Sport and Health Sciences you will have up to date knowledge and experience as a physiotherapist with active registration with the HCPC, and experience in clinical supervision.  You will be joining our inspiring team of academics focused on the learning and teaching of Physiotherapy on our pre- registration BSc and MSc Physiotherapy courses, also contributing to the post registration MSc Health and Sport programmes according to expertise.   

Our courses are focused on preparing students with knowledge, skills, innovation and vision for careers in contemporary health care services.  You will use your experience to take an active part in supporting students in both theory and practice. 

In order to be successful in this post you should:

  • have a good (1 or 2:1) relevant degree, in physiotherapy therapy
  • have recent professional experience as a senior physiotherapist 
  • be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Physiotherapist
  • have a Higher Education teaching qualification and/or an HEA Fellowship, or willingness to undertake this within the first 12 months
  • have up-to-date, sound knowledge of current developments in health, social care and the range of skills required to teach the subject

If you have a Doctorate and can supervise at this level, you will have opportunities to develop as the university has an active programme for supporting early career researchers.

The post is based at our Eastbourne Campus, however, following the prospectus for change consultation the physiotherapy courses will be taught on the Falmer campus from September 2024.
