We seeking an experienced HR professional to lead a team of HR Advisors in the provision of a comprehensive employee relations service across the University, in line with the Human Resources strategy.  This team is a key partner in the delivery of the University's strategic people management agenda.

To succeed in this key role, you will need: 

  • Extensive experience in a senior Employee Relations role within in a large organisation.
  • The ability to work with high volume ER issues, with a strong understanding of employment law and experience of working with trade unions.
  • Experience of supporting teams through change.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to provide guidance to senior stakeholders.

You will be responsible for managing and developing the day to day provision of ER advice and guidance across the university, facilitating good employment relations and ensuring consistency and professionalism with managing risk to the University.

You will hold excellent up to date knowledge of employment legislation, with substantial experience of working at a senior level in a large, complex, multi-sited organisation. Also essential is the ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills, and the ability to express complex arrangements with clarity. You will also be flexible with an ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, whilst remaining calm under pressure. A CIPD level 7 qualification or equivalent experience is also essential.
