Assistant Librarian User Services (30 hours per week) - Internal only

Do you want to provide excellent customer service to students and staff in a busy academic library?  

We are seeking a graduate with either a professional qualification in library/information services or equivalent experience in a relevant role to bring their enthusiasm, vision and commitment to the student experience to assist our User Services Librarian in the management of customer services at the Aldrich Library. This is a new post and would suit someone looking to gain knowledge and experience of managing library services in an academic library.

You will have the ability to initiate and develop projects to deliver user focused, inclusive and accessible services that engage with our student community and to work on wellbeing initiatives with cross site library groups, led by the Head of User Services. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, relate well to all library customers and colleagues and demonstrate an understanding of equality and diversity. With a sound understanding of electronic information sources, automated library systems and standard office applications, you will be interested in learning and proactive in developing yourself and others, and you will have the confidence to learn new skills as required.  

This is a part time post of 30 hours a week, fixed term for 12 months, it includes regular evenings and weekend working for which appropriate enhancements will be paid. Job sharers are welcome to apply.
