We are seeking to recruit an Archive Assistant / Administrator to join our Design Archives team based at Grand Parade

In this role you’ll have a key responsibility in the Design Archives team for providing administrative and curatorial support to the Design Archives collections and team across the range of its activities.

This job will require you to work closely with all members of the team: Archive Director, Preservation & Digital Resources Co-ordinator and Digital Content and Systems Co-ordinator. You’ll also liaise with various internal contacts including School Operations and Research teams, Finance and Estates, as well as contributing to collections activities, such as documentation and collections care, and supporting our research services and teaching sessions.

To be effective in the role you will need: 

  • Demonstrable knowledge/experience of working in an archives or collections setting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build networks and maintain positive working relationships both internally and externally 
  • The ability to work on own initiative and flexibly and collaboratively as part of a team 
  • High level analytical, organisation and problem-solving skills 
  • Working knowledge of using databases for recording data 

This is a permanent, part time role (0.4 full-time equivalent), will be fully onsite working and based at Design Archives on the City Campus.
