Join our talented and committed team of professionals in the Student Recruitment, Marketing and Outreach Division of Marketing and Communications.     

Our team works throughout the student recruitment journey - from generating first awareness of higher education to supporting students as they enrol and make the transition to the university. We engage with prospective undergraduate and postgraduate students in the UK and internationally. Dedicated strands of work support widening participation in Higher Education.  

You will be responsible for the co-ordination and development of the Marketing & Communications Student Ambassador scheme, from recruiting students to delivering training, allocating shifts and ensuring prompt payment for shifts. Working as part of the Marketing & Communications team you will primarily provide Ambassadors to support Recruitment and Outreach activities on behalf of the University. This role is central to ensuring that Student Ambassadors are recruited effectively, trained and supported throughout their time working with us.

Student Ambassadors are vital to the University’s recruitment and outreach work, enabling us to reach potential students at in person events throughout the UK and on our university campuses, and around the globe at a range of online Recruitment and Outreach events. With the support of Student and Ambassadors our teams aim to increase the number of students who can benefit from expert advice and guidance and support the university in its goal of closing participation and attainment gaps between students from underrepresented backgrounds.

To be successful in this role you should have:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience of delivering training sessions or workshops
  • Experience of co-ordinating events/projects
  • Evidence of the potential for effective team leadership
  • The ability to interpret, apply and communicate regulations and procedures
