Are you a current University of Brighton student looking for a placement year? Fancy travelling around the UK? Interested in events, recruitment, marketing and outreach? 

If so, we would love to hear from you! 

Within this role you’ll be attending higher education fairs and exhibitions to speak to prospective students, as well as delivering presentations online or in-person. You will also assist with the organisation of a range of events, including the University’s open days and coordinate the setting-up and staffing of the university’s exhibition stands. This will include event bookings and freight, and booking staff accommodation and transport as required. 

You will also provide administrative support for the Student Recruitment team, such as maintaining a record of student recruitment activity, including evaluations and to generate reports on this data, and assist with general event preparations. 

Additionally, you will develop an extensive knowledge of the university’s portfolio of courses, admissions criteria and social and academic facilities, as well as a good understanding of student finance/funding arrangements. 

The successful candidate will have:

  • Excellent presentation and communication skill
  • The ability to relate to and speak with school and college students about exploring possible higher education options. 
  • Good administrative and organizational skills. 
  • The ability to work flexibly and effectively with team members across the Student Recruitment and Outreach division, as well as the wider Marketing and Communications department.  

You will be expected to travel extensively within the UK when required (a hire car will be arranged for you if needed). Some weekend and evening work is required, for which time in lieu or overtime is arranged. Leave for this post is usually taken during school/college holiday periods.   

Interviews are anticipated for mid-late February. Approximate start date of late May to mid-June 2025 depending on your studies. The post is fixed term until 31/07/2026.
