Join our talented and driven team of professionals where you will be responsible for leading and developing the delivery of recruitment and outreach activity and projects with schools and colleges predominantly across East Sussex, with a particular focus on Eastbourne, Hastings, Bexhill and the surrounding coastal area.

We work with students, their families and supporters from primary school through to college, to support students from backgrounds that are under-represented in university. Our aim is to present university as an achievable option to people who may not have considered it before and close the participation gap between those least and most likely to attend.

You will be responsible for the organisation and delivery of outreach activity and presentations both in-person and online to promote awareness of higher education and the University of Brighton in particular. This includes providing high-quality and accurate information, advice and guidance to potential applicants and their parents, advisers and external professionals.

You will work closely with academic colleagues at the university to organise and deliver online and face to face outreach activities. You will also deliver a residential event, which will require overnight attendance at a summer school and occasional evening activities.

You will need excellent organisational and communication skills and experience of working with secondary and college students, with an ability to develop and deliver project-based activities. We are looking for a flexible, motivated colleague who can prioritise their own workload efficiently and work as part of a larger team.

This is post is for 18.5 hours a week and is permanent. There are no fixed days and we can be flexible to allow you to fit the hours across the week, however hours will need to fit operational need and be spread across at least 3 days. As we return to a more normal operation, we expect the role to be based on site but regular travel to schools and colleges and home working and will be supported. The selection process may include a short presentation exercise as well as a panel interview.

The nature of this role will mean that a DBS check is required.

Interviews are expected to take place week commencing 4th October 2021.
