The University of Brighton, Eastbourne Campus is looking for a Chef to join our student focused hospitality team.  We are looking for an team member with strong craft skills and excellent communication skills to thrive within our innovative food outlets whilst enhancing the student experience.

You will be responsible, alongside another chef, for the preparation and delivery of the breakfast & lunchtime service for up to 350 students on site, ensuring that the high quality is maintained and that we are providing the best student experience possible.  Duties will include the preparation, cooking and service of a variety of dishes to the high standards that are expected, meeting a wide variety of dietary requirements, assisting in placing orders through our online portal, putting away deliveries, helping to write menus and ensuring the university policies & procedures are followed at all times. The ability and aptitude to work in a busy customer facing role is essential, as is the ability to communicate well with customers in order to provide a high-quality service.  You must be able to work on your own initiative with minimal supervision.

Previous experience in a similar role is essential. A current Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable, although training can be given

This post is fixed term to cover a period of maternity leave.  The hours are 06:30 – 14:30 Monday to Thursday, 06:30 – 14:00 on Friday although a degree of flexibility will be required to cover holidays and any special events.
