This is an exciting opportunity to join the Green Growth Platform team at the University of Brighton, helping Industry members to develop more sustainable products and services, and facilitating research collaborations between industry and academia. 

The University of Brighton’s Green Growth Platform (GGP) is an award-winning university-led green business-innovation network. It is the southeast hub and lead partner of Clean Growth UK which has 2,500 members and has hubs at the Universities of Portsmouth and Liverpool John Moores.  Our GGP hub is a delivery partner for the Low Carbon Across the South and East (LoCASE) project which provides grants and support to SMEs.

Bring your Innovation and project facilitation skills to bear by supporting local, national and international businesses to develop more sustainable products and services through collaborations with our University.  You will work closely with the rest of the team, including the Innovation lead, to ensure we successfully support our members and deliver innovative collaborations.  You will act as the facilitator for R&D related enquiries, liaising with external companies and academics, and supporting them in the development of collaborative projects and funding applications.  A key part of your role will be to ensure that our business members receive excellent customer service by delivering a clear and helpful customer journey.

In order to be successful in this post you should have knowledge and/or experience in:

  • Solid knowledge of business approaches and policy landscape in low carbon/sustainability sectors
  • Specialist knowledge of innovation/research methods and techniques 
  • Ability to interpret complex rules and regulations, correctly absorb technical information and summarise it accurately
  • Solid knowledge of business approaches and policy landscape in low carbon/sustainability sectors
  • Highly developed inter-personal skills, creating and sustaining good communication with colleagues and delivering excellent customer service

This post is full-time, however we welcome applications from candidates seeking to job share.

Our current funding envelope allows us to offer this post fixed term until 30 June 2023, however we are actively pursuing future funding opportunities and hope to be able to extend this post into the future, although this cannot be guaranteed.
