Student Information Desk Adviser (37.00 or 29.5 hours per week)

Salary:  £22,659 to £25,482 per annum

Playing a key role in the delivery of our Student Information Desk at the heart of each campus, you will act as the first point of contact for students, staff and visitors providing an efficient triage service, managing enquiries and providing administrative support

In this varied and challenging role, you will be a strong communicator with experience of customer service and/or providing information, advice and guidance in a service setting. Working as part of a team you will be able to handle a range of enquiries related to wellbeing support services, student administration and advising enquirers on university policy, process and procedures.

You will also need to exercise judgement to identify risk and ascertain when to operate a crisis response, involve others or pass on more complex enquiries to ensure the provision of a responsive, appropriate and effective service. 

In order to be successful in this role you will:

  • Have the ability to plan, prioritise and manage a range of work activities
  • Utilse resources to meet the needs of our service users
  • Be able to communicate regulations and procedures, demonstrating sensitivity and diplomacy 
  • Be able to work independently with a minimum of supervision and show willingness and initiative to resolve situations

There are two posts available; both are fixed-term until July 2020:

  • Full-time 37.00 hours per week (Monday to Friday 8.30/9 – 4.30/5) or 
  • Part-time for 29.5 hours per week (Monday and Wednesday to Friday 8.30/9 – 4.30/5)
