Join the university’s Accommodation Service and play a vital role in supporting students across our campuses in Brighton. Our team handles key activities such as collecting accommodation fees, managing student applications for accommodation, and allocating rooms in university halls of residence.
In this role, you will focus on reducing accommodation-related debt by engaging with students through early intervention and support. You will also provide advice and respond to student enquiries, referring them to other university services when necessary.
You will be responsible for:
- Minimising accommodation debt through proactive intervention and effective communication with students.
- Helping students with enquiries and advice, signposting to appropriate university services as required.
- Collaborating closely with the Finance Department to ensure accommodation income targets are met, including tracking and following up with debtors. Attending court proceedings related to debt recovery may also be required.
Our ideal candidate will bring proven experience in a similar role, with a solid understanding of debt recovery processes. You will also possess:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong negotiation abilities and the capacity to manage challenging situations.
- Exceptional organisational skills and self-motivation.
- A customer-focused approach to service delivery.
Some evening and weekend work may be required during peak periods. This role is based at our Moulsecoomb campus in Brighton, with travel to other university sites as needed.
This is a full-time position (37 hours per week) on a fixed-term basis until 16th May 2025. Applications for job-sharing arrangements are welcomed.
