Fixed Term End Date: 30/11/2021

We are seeking a Project Officer to work with our team as part of the exciting new STEP-UP (Small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) Transformation Engagement Programme Universities Partnership) project which is being run in partnership between the University of Brighton and the University of Sussex and is funded by the European Social Fund.

STEP-UP is a new project, which will bridge the gap between the supply of graduates with high-level skills, and the demand for workforce-ready employees required by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

You will have specific responsibility for managing project-related administration and finance, overseeing day-to-day administrative and financial processes and procedures. As the main point of contact for all stakeholders about the project, you will also play a significant role in managing stakeholder relationships within and between the universities, project partners, funders and SMEs, on an operational level.

As the successful candidate, you will:

  • Have strong communication skills and be highly organised.
  • Have experience of networking effectively with a variety of stakeholders and be able to work well in a team to meet project targets.
  • Be comfortable working in a complex project environment and have strong numerical skills.
  • Be confident developing effective systems, processes, and reporting on key performance indicators to the Head of STEP-UP and a wider audience.

For an informal discussion about the post, please contact Clare Dawson, Head of Employability at the University of Brighton

The post is offered part-time (30 hours per week) on a fixed term basis until November 2021.
