Tennis Development Intern (9 hours per week)

We run a diverse sporting offer and are looking for an organised motivated graduate to facilitate the development of our University Recreational Tennis Programme.

In your role, you will actively develop ways to promote and increase engagement in Tennis at the University of Brighton, through recreational, turn-up and play, coached, and intramural activity, including the utilisation of new and innovative opportunities. This is an internship for someone who is looking to develop a career in tennis, coaching, and sport development, and is a great opportunity to access University of Brighton and Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) training.

Your position will give you direct and relevant experience, enabling you to utilise the skills and knowledge you will have gained on your undergraduate degree course . Working in a project based way, with clearly defined outcomes you will be provided with developmental opportunities, supporting you as you work towards gaining additional sector specific qualifications.

In order to be successful in this role you will have:

  • Knowledge of developing projects, events, programme promotion, and methods to evaluate impact and effectiveness
  • Good communication skills to liaise with University students, on campus sports clubs, and local sporting organisations
  • Experience of working with and supporting volunteers 
  • Knowledge of the organisation and administration sports activity
  • Graduated from the University of Brighton

This role is part-time, on a fixed-term contract for 9 months (September to June), and will be supported by a 90% fee waiver to study a Masters degree at the University of Brighton, with the successful candidate required to pay the final 10% of this fee.
