Lecturer/Senior lecturer in Building Surveying

Salary:  £35,845 to £51,034 per annum

Our school offers a welcoming, supportive and positive working environment, and we pride ourselves on our Bronze Athena Swan award. We are seeking to appoint a lecturer or senior lecturer to join our staff team in the Built Environment Subject Area.

Our lecturers have a commitment to providing high quality learning and teaching across all levels of Higher Education, including fieldwork/fieldtrips within the UK and internationally.  A significant proportion of our Built Environment degree programmes are team-taught, making an ability to work flexibly as an individual and team member essential.  We would like you to bring your high-quality professional practice/research profile (consistent with career stage) to teach our students and develop externally funded consultancy/research programmes. 

To be successful in the post, you should have:

  • Experience of carrying out building surveys for clients and knowledge of building pathology
  • Hold Full RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) Membershiphave completed, or be near completing, a PhD would be an advantage
  • An up-to-date, sound knowledge of the Building Surveying including current professional/vocational developments and the range of generic skills required in Building Surveying
  • Competent IT skills and effective use of IT for teaching and learning in the Built Environment

On joining us, you will become a member of the Built Environment Research Group (BERG), and will have access to world class laboratories and field equipment within the School, and have the opportunity to contribute to other research areas across the School. If appropriate, you will be supported to gain an accredited UK teaching qualification.
