With increasing population and per capita water demand the UK is facing drought deficit challenges. To meet future demand and needs of the next generation and beyond alternative water supply options including water reuse are required. We are looking for dedicated people to support current research efforts in the field of Water Reuse and the investigation and application of treatment technologies.
You will be part of a small but dedicated team working with a high degree of independence to investigate specific treatment technologies. The role will require some practical field work to enable sample collection. However, it is envisaged that the role will be largely based in the Environmental and Public Health Research & Enterprise Group based at the Cockcroft Building on the Moulsecoomb campus (Brighton UK).
The role requires:
Focus and precision with laboratory practices (e.g. sample analysis and calibration)
- Working safely with colleagues to customise and optimise bench scale treatment processes
- Collecting and recording data
- Running experiments under the direction of the Principal Investigator and Laboratory Technicians
The following aspects are desirable:
- Experience in a laboratory environment. This could be through a professional role or through training or education
- The ability to undertake and complete work requiring a high degree of concentration
- Willing to undertake repetitive processing and data collection
- Willing to work occasional weekends
- Driving/motorcycle licence for sample collection
