Research Fellow in Optical Diagnostics for Sprays

Salary:  £36,382 to £43,434 per annum

Applications are invited from highly skilled researchers to work as part of a research team, working on the project ‘Next generation spray simulation model (NGSSM)’. 

This project is supported by the UK Research & Innovation’s flagship Future Leaders Fellowship scheme and the focus of the project is on the development of a novel tool to simulate sprays for engineering applications.  This includes theoretical and experimental studies as well as development of practical applications for inhalers and fuel sprays. 

To be successful in this post you should have:

  • A good (1 or 2:1) degree in fluid dynamics, physics, engineering or mathematics, and a relevant post-graduate qualification/PhD. 
  • Competence in optical and laser diagnostics for sprays or multiphase flows, image and data processing, proven by publications in international refereed journals.
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English. 
  • Experience with using phase doppler anemometry (PDA) to be used during the work on the project is desirable.
