We have ambitious plans to grow our established Degree Apprenticeship offer, and this provides a significant area of development for the University. This is your opportunity to join a dedicated Apprenticeship Team supporting the roll out of these plans.  

Offering Apprenticeship programmes in sectors as diverse as Healthcare, Business, Teaching, Social Work, Town Planning and Civil Engineering, we have been delivering degree level apprenticeships since 2016. Our apprenticeship provision was graded as ‘Good’ by Ofsted in 2019, and we are now looking for someone with a good understanding of Apprenticeships to join our team of Business Development Advisors.  

We are looking for an experienced Business Development Advisor with experience of apprenticeship programmes at HE or FE level. This externally facing role will deliver activities to engage with health sector employers to support the learner journey and secure opportunities for recruitment to our growing Degree Apprenticeship offer.  As a key interface between our course leaders who deliver the apprenticeship programmes, and our employers who employ and sponsor their apprentices, your role will be to deliver activities that engage with employers to support the apprentice learner experience, and secures opportunities for recruitment to our expanding Degree Apprenticeship offer. We are especially interested in applicants with prior experience of working with the Healthcare sector to support the growth in our Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeship. 

 To be successful in this role, you should have: 

  • An understanding and demonstrable experience of apprenticeship programmes  
  • The ability to demonstrate a track record of relevant successful work within a business development environmentExperience of securing new business, negotiating contracts, and closing deals 
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly to a variety of audiences 
  • Experience of working with the public at large-scale events 

 This role is based at Hollingbury in Brighton, with some travel across East and West Sussex to visit employer settings as part of your role.
