Salary:  £61,618 to £65,365 pro rata

The University of Brighton is seeking an exceptional individual to provide the strategic visioning and leadership to shape, inform and lead on Careers and Employability across the University, putting student employability at the heart of all that we do, including embedding student employability in our curriculum. The Head of Employability will be responsible for ensuring the University delivers an inclusive, integrated and adaptive approach to our employability provision, informed by our student voice and through strong partnerships with employers.

The University of Brighton has recently undertaken a review of its Careers and Employability provision and the new Head of Employability will be expected to take forward key recommendations arising from that review as well as lead the development of a new strategy for the Service. You will work with relevant academic and professional services leads to create suitably connected and effective services and opportunities for our students, ensuring they are fit for purpose, agile and resilient and provide a consistent, high- level quality of service.

Working within the recently created Student Operations & Support Directorate, which encompasses a number of services that enhance student life, this pivotal role will work to ensure that the University of Brighton’s Careers and Employability offer delivers the services needed to prepare our 20,000 students for life beyond graduation and to position them to achieve, whatever their chosen path.  

This is an exciting time to join the University of Brighton, as we are at the mid-point of our 2016-2021 Strategy – Practical Wisdom – and are looking to the future through our estates masterplan for our Moulsecoomb campus in Brighton, which will see the development of new halls of residence, an academic building (which will house our Business School), sports facilities and new space for students, including the Students’ Union.
